As Committed Partners with Law Enforcement, County Mutual Hosts Successful 2021 A.L.E.R.T. Law Enforcement Challenge
The Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation and Community Insurance Corporation held their 2021 Advanced Law Enforcement Risk Training (A.L.E.R.T.) Law Enforcement Challenge October 6 in Portage County.
“In our state and across the nation, law enforcement personnel put their lives on the line every day to ensure our communities and citizens are protected and thriving,” said John Dirkse, President of Aegis, a Charles Taylor Company. “We are proud to continue to partner with member law enforcement departments to help them do their job as safely as possible. The A.L.E.R.T. Law Enforcement Challenge is just one training tool we use to keep them prepared for what they might face on a daily basis.”
Close to 20 member departments participated in the 10th annual event, which was held at the Portage County Sheriff's Department Rifle Range. This year included a presentation on managing stress and addressing PTSD on the job, as well as a challenge course that involved physical and technical challenges.
The 2021 A.L.E.R.T. Law Enforcement Challenge winners included:

Department and Individual Awards
The top three competitors' departments received a check made out to the department to be used at their discretion. Department awards included $10,000 for first place, $8,000 for second place, and $6,000 for third place. Individual awards included $1,200 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $800 for third place.
“Whether it is our state-of-the-art firearms training simulators to our virtual safety training modules, it is a top priority of the Wisconsin County Mutual to keep law enforcement ready for dangerous situations that may arise while doing their jobs,” said Dirkse. “We are committed partners with our Wisconsin law enforcement agencies and are grateful to stand alongside them in our risk management efforts.”
