A.M. Best Rating of A-
The Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance
Corporation recently received an A.M. Best Company Rating of A-
(excellent) for 2002.
The rating reflects the County Mutual's
"excellent capitalization, historically favorable operating
profitability and solid liquidity." In addition, the
company stated that the A- rating factor was reflective of
conservative underwriting and investing philosophies.
Other contributing factors to the positive
rating from A.M. Best were "the company's commitment to
loss control and risk management."
The County Mutual's high rating was also due
in part to diversifying its risks with the Wisconsin County
Mutual's Municipal Liability Program, first dollar and excess
workers' compensation insurance, and the Owner Direct Insurance
Program (ODIP) for county construction projects.
Founded in 1899, A.M. Best was the first
company to report on the financial condition of insurance
companies. The company provides comprehensive data covering all
