2011 County Mutual Scholarship Winners Announced

The Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation has announced the winners of their 2011 County Mutual Scholarship Program. 

This year's winners include:

Clare Koopmans

Clare is a freshman at UW-Eau Claire, majoring in Nursing.  She is the daughter of John Koopmans, a Green County Supervisor.

Casey Shields

Casey is a senior at UW-Stout, majoring in Information Technology Management.  He is the son of Emmer Shields, Jr., an Ashland County Highway Commissioner.

Emily Hogan

Emily is a freshman at UW-Eau Claire, majoring in Special Education.  She is the daughter of Teresa Hogan, an Application Support Specialist at Oconto County.

Neil Scannell

Neil is a junior at UW-La Crosse, majoring in Physical Education & Educational Leadership.  He is the son of Jelaine Scannell, a Registered Nurse at Sheboygan County.

Jenny Renz

Jenny is a sophomore at Carroll University, majoring in Exercise Science.  She is the daughter of Thomas Renz, a Bayfield County Sergeant.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year Wisconsin college no later than the fall term of the application year.  Applicant’s parent, grandparent, guardian or the applicant must be a county supervisor or employee of a Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation member county.

The County Mutual Scholarship is an annual program, with the application period opening in late spring each year. Scholarship entries were reviewed and selected by a panel chosen by the Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation.  Each student received a $2,000 scholarship.

The winners were announced at the Wisconsin Counties Association's 2011 Annual Conference September 26, 2011 in Wisconsin Dells.  Congratulations to all this year's winners!
